So why do I want to run for a second term as your Lee District Supervisor?  First of all, because I believe that public service really is a high calling.  I learned that from my parents and grandparents and from the dedicated public servants I have worked with for many years.  We have made great progress and celebrated many accomplishments together.  I believe that my four years on the Board of Supervisors serving as chair of both the Transportation and Legislative Committees have given me the insight and knowledge to deal with some of the most important challenges Lee District will face in the coming years.

Lee District is a wonderful place to live, work, and play and I want to make it even better.  I grew up here and now my wife and I are raising our daughter here.  We have an active and engaged community, fine schools, dedicated business partners, parks and green space, and a quality of life second to none.

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you as your Supervisor.  I ask for your vote on November 8 so that I may continue to serve.

Almost four years ago, I was elected your Lee District Supervisor—in some ways a lifetime ago.  Since that time, Fairfax County and especially our end of the County has been preparing for BRAC and its blessings (jobs) and curses (transportation), the great recession and recovery, and growing transportation and education needs in a time of shrinking resources.  The only constant has been change—most visible in recent census figures and coming redistricting.

We were very successful on Election Day!  Lee District’s 24 precincts gave me 99.2% of the votes that were cast.  Thanks for all of your support and encouragement which made this possible.

I look forward to serving Lee District for the next four years and I hope you’ll stay in touch by following me on Facebook at Supervisor Jeff McKay and by visiting my website at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/lee/.
